Sexually Transmitted Diseases

What diseases does an STD test look for?

When it comes to testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), there are several approaches we can take. Since each STD can cause different symptoms, Dr. Gonzalez uses a range of tests to help us understand what you’re experiencing. We’re here to ensure you get the care you need!

Once she’s identified your symptoms, she may perform a test for any of the following most common STDs:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Herpes
  • Genital warts
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

The tests she can perform can either be performed via a urine sample or vaginal swab.

How are sexually transmitted diseases treated?

Effective management of STDs is critical, and our team ensures a private and efficient approach. For viral STDs such as herpes and hepatitis, we develop individualized medication regimens designed to effectively manage the conditions. In the case of bacterial STDs, such as gonorrhea, treatment typically involves the administration of antibiotics. Additionally, if a patient is pregnant, Dr. Gonzalez may recommend appropriate ointments or topical solutions to support both maternal and fetal health. Our commitment to delivering expert care is paramount.
